For the very first time, Geislinger participated at the China Windpower Exhibition, which took place from October 17th-19th in Beijing, China.
China has rapidly become a global leader in the wind sector and today ranks in fourth place worldwide in installed wind power capacity. Studies predict that by 2030 China will generate more than a quarter of its electricity from wind energy; currently, the wind sector is rapidly growing.
Therefore, the Geislinger Compowind® Coupling exhibit, which was presented for the very first time in China, attracted a great deal of interest from visitors. The innovative Compowind® Coupling protects the gearbox and the whole drivetrain by significantly reducing non-torque loads and supports overcoming generator misalignment issues.
The China Windpower fair was followed by Kormarine, the International Marine, Shipbuilding, Offhore & Oil & Gas Exhibition, which took place from October 24th - 27th in Busan, South Korea. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the organization team claims to be constantly developing Kormarine further to become the world’s leading show in today’s marine industry. According to the organizer, Korea is suffering from the global recession in the Marine Shipbuilding Industry, advising a paradigm shift from threat to innovation. With Geislinger Ltd. located in Busan, Korean customers find a reliable partner providing innovative solution for individual demands and applications.
Another exhibition Geislinger successfully exhibited at, was Marintec, which took place from December 5th - 8th in Shanghai, China. More than 2000 exhibitors participated at this shipbuilding exhibition, presenting their newest products. This exhibition was a good opportunity for Geislinger (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. to present Geislinger’s innovative solutions to Chinese customers.
Every year early December, in the cradle of Jazz, the most important shipbuilding exhibition is taking place. New Orleans is a gate for the blue water shipping into the Mexican Golf region as well as into the brown water shipping behind the shore line with the Mississippi river and the big lakes (Lake Pontchartrain) in the North of the crescent city. For the 38th time Workboat Show took place from November 29th until December 1th. All those who had attended from the ship operating and ship building business have reported that the marine market has not yet recovered due to many boats still tied up at the docks. Geislinger is winning a bigger piece of the small pie as our brand and products are well recognized in the market. We were not the only ones who offered couplings and dampers, but our innovative, light-weight and smart solution are very well appreciated.
This year’s exhibitions were rounded of by technical seminars which took place for our customers in Japan, Korea and China from November 29th until December 4th, giving technical insights in a variety of topics.
Geislinger was delighted about the successful participation at those three exhibitions and the overall positive feedback from customers. 2017 has been a very successful year for the company and we look forward to the challenges in 2018.
